DALLE STELLE ALLE STALLE - concept handmade necklace

I developed this necklace during one of the three workshps in the post graduation master "DDG - Design Del Gioiello - at the Politecnico di Milano in 2010.

Under Giorgio Vigna's guide the class had to develop a jewel starting with all sorts of ropes.

I chose a string, very rough and thick, and gold plated copper wire: thin, shiny and strong. Combining the two materials I transformed the characteristics of both of them, creating a voluminous and structured necklace.

"Dalle stalle alle stelle" mens "From rugs to riches", indicating the added value given by the manual work.
