LA BOîTE MYSTéRIEUSE - secret wooden box

I developed this concept during the master of art in design, Creative Academy, in 2011.

The class was asked to develop projects of objects, with or without a function, inspired to the world of Van Cleef & Arpels and to the extraordinary trips of Jules Verne (theme of the brand's 2011 high jewellery collection).

We could chose between four different materials and, for this concept, I choose wood.

The concept is based on 4 novels“Five weeks in a balloon” “20000 leagues under the sea”“From the Earth to the moon”“Trip to the enter of the earth”Each partition leads ideally in one of the fantastic worlds imagined by Verne. But, as for a real treasure, it’s not easy to be opened: the handles are mimetized with the hinges of the previous door creating a game that reminds of a propeller, an engine to travel towards new adventures!

The prototype is realized, in an amazingly precise way, by Luigi Cermenati in his workshop in Cesano Maderno - Milan great area.
